Two Rapes Reported At MSU Fraternities

BOZEMAN -

Montana State University police are investigating two reports of sexual assault that happened over the weekend.

Police said the first incident happened on Saturday around 1:30 a.m. at the Sigma Chi Fraternity house. The victim was reported partying with new acquaintances when she was taken into a room and sexually assaulted by two males.

Later, police received a second report from a woman who suspects she was drugged and assaulted by a man she knew at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house around 4 o'clock Sunday morning.

MSU Dean of Students, Matt Caires said the university takes any sexual assault case very seriously.

"We respond swiftly and with all our diligence to make sure that if a policy violation occurred that we take decisive action," said Caires.

MSU Police tell us these cases are not related but alcohol was involved in both. Until the investigations are complete, both fraternities have been suspended.
