Shooting in Flathead County

Posted: Updated:

A 34-year-old Marion man was flown to emergency care in Seattle after being shot in the back and the side yesterday evening.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says 51-year-old Paul West was arrested on suspicion of assault with a weapon.

Court documents say a friend of Jason Guymon's was riding his horse to his house and apparently crossed West's property.

West told the rider to leave his property and followed him to Guymon's house where Guymon came out with a shotgun.

Sheriffs say both West and Guymon fired shots and Guymon was left seriously injured.
