Butte's First Year Receiver Dominating

Posted: Updated:
This is the first year since middle school that Butte High wide receiver Peter Granger is playing football. And it was head coach Arie Grey who convinced the senior to get back on the gridiron.

"In seventh grade I loved football and I actually decided to play traveling baseball so that took away football for a couple of years and ended up quitting that and Coach Grey got me into it this year," said Granger.

"We went after Peter quite a bit and then he stepped away and then it was really Pete that was like hey I'd like to play so we were really excited about because he's a talented athlete and plays extremely hard. He's big got decent speed so you just don't turn down guys like that," said Arie Grey.

What makes Granger special is his size. His physical presence gives cornerbacks a hard time trying to cover him one on one. He's already caught 15 balls in just two games.

"He has a big impact there's not many corners that can match up with him. Six five just physical receiver you don't really find that much. and I'm glad we have it," said senior quarterback Dallas Cook.

"I feel like I've got matchups with corners since I'm six inches taller than any corner and they can throw me the deep ball feel like I'm confidence that I can go get all those," said Granger.

Quarterback Dallas Cook is glad that he's catching the pigskin.

"It makes me really happy it's like a little kid on Christmas."
