Raise the curtain and light the lights because a new season is kicking off at the Flathead Valley Community College's theatre program, with auditions being held September 6.
At 6:00 p.m. all interested actors are encouraged to bring a comedic, non-musical monologue of less than three minutes to the college to try out for "Blithe Spirit," a play by Noel Coward.
There are only seven parts to cast, but Joe Legate, the theatre director, says there will be many more opportunities to strut your stuff on the stage this season.
This is the first of five productions planned for this semester.
Legate also notes that priority will be given to FVCC students.
"The vast majority of our plays are always open to the community," said Legate, "When they asked me to start this program twenty-two years ago, the emphasis was on community theatre and it still is, but obviously we're still an educational institution, so it's that wonderful balancing act."
The play is scheduled to go up October 11 and 12 with shows following on October 17 through 19.
