A fight inside a Houston-area high school escalated into a series of stabbings Wednesday morning that left a 17-year-old student dead and several others wounded.
Belgrade High School is in the middle of implementing some changes they hope will prevent situations like the one in Houston.
The school is currently moving a set of doors so visitors will have to stop in the office before entering the rest of the school.
But sometimes the threat is a student in the building.
The school's principal said they have a team in place ready to respond if that is the case.
"We have a crisis team that works with training students and working with them to bring to people's attention when they see something out of the ordinary," said Russ McDaniel, Belgrade High School Principal.
McDaniel said the schools crisis team has been in place for more than 10 years.
