Last Week's Storm Still Stops Hikers

WEST GLACIER -

Glacier National Park is still reeling from a sudden storm that blew through Thursday.

Many trees along the western side of the Park are down.

Crews continue to clean up the debris.

The mess has led to some trail closures, including the Boardwalk section of the Trail of the Cedars near Avalanche Creek.

Jennifer Lutman, a spokeswoman for the Park, says the Boardwalk section will likely be closed for the rest of the week.

"Work started today on the Trail of the Cedars Boardwalk section, so we anticipate it to continue throughout the week and hopefully the work will be done by next week, but it could be longer," explained Lutman.

Lutman also encourages hikers to report any damage they come across.
