Lolo Schools Propose $10.5M Bond for New Facility

Posted: Updated:
LOLO -

Lolo School District officials are asking for a $10.5 million bond for a new K-4 facility on 20 acres off Farm Lane.

School officials said the current facilities are outdated, with some built as far back as 1905, and they're in a dangerous location, right off Highway 93.

They said the buildings' foundations, plumbing, electrical systems and more are dangerously outdated.

Officials said there's also an overall lack of space for the 624 students in the multiple, shared buildings, which causes security issues.

School officials said the new building on Farm Lane would include a gym, food services, offices and possibly a library.

They said the bond would cost about $225/year on a $200,000 home.

Election ballots are mailed out mid-September, and the election takes place October 1.
