BOZEMAN -

On Thursday afternoon, 11th from Grant to College in Bozeman was closed due to a gas line break.

A construction company was putting in a sprinkler and hit the gas pipe with a trenching machine. Bozeman Police, fire and University Hazmat staff all responded to the 911 call.

Responders said the gas leak was no harm to staff and students inside the nearby buildings.

"Due to the location, size and weather conditions, we quickly determined that there was no risk to the people in the immediate buildings," said Mark Lachapelle, MSU Assistant Police Chief.

The road was closed for about 15 minutes around 1 p.m.
