Murder Trial Vacated for Man in Dixon Stabbings

THOMPSON FALLS -

The man accused of stabbing a Dixon man to death in his home last December has his September murder trial canceled.

Nathan Calvert is accused of stabbing Doug Morigeau 54 times and cutting the throat of Morigeau's wife, who survived the attack.

Calvert's trial was scheduled for September 16, but Sanders County District Court officials said a judge signed an order Monday, vacating that trial.

Now, court officials said Calvert will have a change of plea hearing on September 17, although the Sanders County Attorney had not yet filed a plea agreement with the court.
