Ballots Mailed Out To Approve Monforton School Expansion

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

On Wednesday, ballots were mailed out to residents in the Monforton School District asking them to approve a $2.9 million bond.

The bond would be used to expand the facility, adding three new classrooms, a community room, a fire access drive and renovating the current lunchroom.

School officials say since 2010 the school's population has doubled from 200 to nearly 400 students.

If the bond does not pass, they predict by 2015, 89 students will be without a desk. Residents have until September 17 to vote.

After a dismal winter, the U.S. economy sprang back to life in the April-June quarter, growing at a fast 4 percent annual rate on the strength of higher consumer and business spending.
