The nearly $47,000,000 budget for the city of Kalispell is approved for the coming fiscal year.
At 9:40 p.m. last night, Kalispell's City Council meeting adjourned after making only a few modifications to the final budget proposal.
According to Rick Wills, the city's Finance Director, the council moved to strike two special assessments, items meant to raise separate funds to remove diseased Elm trees in the city and to maintain street lights.
It was not a completely one-sided fight, however.
The council also approved two special assessments dealing with street maintenance and standardizing large garbage pick-up fees.
