Lolo Creek Complex Explodes to 8,000 Acres

LOLO CREEK -

The Lolo Creek Complex burning off Highway 12 has reached 8,000 acres and is expected to keep growing.

Eighty fire personnel are battling the lightning-caused fire, burning about ten miles west of Lolo.

Hazards include falling snags, burning material rolling onto the highway, rocks rolling, and traffic congestion as crews and equipment work to get around the fire and put in containment lines.

Residents along Bear Creek Road down to Sleeman Road are under voluntary evacuation.

Missoula County Disaster & Emergency Services advise residents to call their hotline at 258-4636 for more information.
