Bigfork basketball will look a little different this school year, with a throwback from more than a decade ago.
Bigfork Public Schools just hired Josh Downy as the athletic director for both the middle and high schools as well as the head boy's basketball coach.
Downy graduated from Bigfork High School in 1999 and then went on to continue playing, then coaching basketball, at Concordia.
Most recently, he was teaching at a high school in Boise.
"It is a little weird," Downy conceded, "I think I'm far enough removed. You know it's been fourteen years since I graduated. It doesn't seem like that. I'm not sure any of the kids even remember me--I'm sure they don't. I don't think it'll be too weird, but the weirdest thing will kind of be coaching with some of the coaches that were my coaches growing up."
Downy will also teach a several classes in athletic fitness.
