Training With A Purpose

While Cats football was inside the fieldhouse training, there was one member of MSU basketball there. Calen Coleman. The junior from Bakersfield California didn't have any coaches, teammates, or fans watching him. The initiative to work comes from within.

"I've always been a self motivated player. I like to word hard when you work hard you get motivated at the end of the day as coach says," says Calen Coleman.

Coleman works hard because he has a passion for the sport.

"I love the game of basketball. I've been playing since I was two years old and I've loved it ever since. When you love something you put your whole heart into it," said Coleman.

The guard smiles when telling what he especially loves.

"I love to lift. You have that sense you feel real good after a good lift," said Coleman.

"It's a happy place for me. I enjoy doing it. I've been doing it since I was little. When it's just me out there I'm happy you get outta the outside world and it's just you're in your zone," said Coleman.

All this time in the gym goes to a bigger dream.

"My goal is for us to make it to the championship and help our team when the whole thing when the Big Sky championship go to the dance make a big run make history," said Coleman.
