Men-Only Cooking Contest Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

A group of men at the Western Montana Fair put on their aprons to raise awareness for breast cancer. It's part of the men-only, Tough Enough To Cook Pink Contest.

Entrees included more traditional dishes such as flan, and jambalaya, along with some unique foods, like honey sopapilla and grape salad.

While the sopapilla took home the prize, fair culinary organizers said it's not about the competition.

Culinary coordinator, Diane Filicetti said, "Breast cancer is so prevalent and we need to raise awareness, plus we need to showcase our men's cooking talents in our community."

A different cooking contest takes place in the culinary building each day of the fair. To see the fair's schedule, head to the Western Montana Fair's website.
