30th National Night Out

Posted: Updated:

Today, local law enforcement held the 30th National Night Out in the Target parking lot in Missoula to focus on community safety.

This event is held nationally, including in Bozeman, to give community members a chance to focus on safety and see what law enforcement agencies and other organizations do to keep the area safe.

Around fifteen organizations, who benefit Missoula's safety, came out to educate people about what they do and answer any questions.

Law enforcement officials said this event is a great way to educate the community while having fun.

"This is a wonderful time for the community to come out and interact with law enforcement agencies and other agencies that are doing safety work in the community. It helps them to know we are out there helping them and also gives them inspiration of things they can do on their own to keep their family safe." Buckle Up Coalition Director, Charmell Owens said.

Missoula Deputy, Paige Pavalone said around 700 to 1,000 people came through last year and she is hoping more come through this year.
