North American Envirothon Comes To Bozeman

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of high school students from all over the country, and even Canada are in Bozeman this week for North America's largest high school natural resources competition.

The North American Envirothon is a week-long competition where high school students compete in five areas: range, forestry, wildlife, aquatics and soil land use.

At the end of the week, scholarships are awarded to the best team.

Organizers say this year's theme was never done before.

"Since Montana is mostly range land, that is why we decided range lands and pasture lands for the 2013 event," said Shonny Norlund, Envirothon Co-Chair.

This is the first time the event has been held in Montana.
