Babcock to Lie in State, Flags Ordered at Half-Staff

Former First Lady Betty Babcock, who passed away on Sunday, will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda on Thursday, August 8th, from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the viewing.

In addition, Governor Bullock has issued a proclamation ordering all flags to fly at half-staff on August 8th to honor the memory of the former First Lady.

Betty Lee Babcock was the wife of Governor Tim Babcock and served as First Lady of Montana from 1962 until 1969. She also served as a member of the Montana House of Representatives from 1975 to 1977.
