Emigrant Fire Grows

Posted: Updated:

PARADISE VALLEY - The Emigrant fire in the Paradise Valley south of Livingston continues to burn at 250 acres.

Crews responded to the fire on Sunday morning, but believe lightning caused the fire last week when a series of storms moved through the area.

20 fire fighters, a helicopter from Yellowstone National Park and the Helena hot shots are all assisting with the fire.

"A typical wind that we get is out of the southwest and we are expecting some winds this afternoon," said Karen Tuscano, Public Information Officer.

The road up Sixmile Creek to the Dailey Lake Road still remains closed. At this time, the fire is not threatening any structures or homes.
