BOZEMAN - The newly appointed Gallatin County Commissioner was sworn into office on Monday morning.
Pierre Martineau will serve as the third Gallatin County Commissioner. He was voted in by Commissioners back in June by a 2-0 vote.
Martineau is from West Yellowstone where he became involved in local politics, including service on the West Yellowstone City Council and the West Yellowstone Foundation. He said he is looking forward to journey ahead of him.
"It feels great," said Martineau. "It's quite a position and an honor. It's going to be challenging, but I'm going to enjoy it."
Martineau will finish out the remaining 18 months of former commissioners Bill Murdoch's term, who retired in April.
