Soroptimist Thrift Haus Get Extreme Makeover

Posted: Updated:

KALISPELL -The Thrift Haus in Whitefish will embark on a new three day extreme makeover to expand their store.

Community members will tackle a three day renovation project as they turn the old Soroptimist Club Thrift Haus into a new and improved  thrift store.

"We're really excited to involve everyone in the community to come in and move out everything in the thrift store and help us put everything together,"  Store Manager Janice Pierce said.

The Soroptimist Thrift Store is a non-profit organization that raises funds to help women and children. Throughout the years volunteers and customers are faced with overcrowding issues in the store.

"We have no room, we have very limited space, all of our isles where the clothing is located we have about this much space and now we are going to have normal retail space,"  Pierce said.

Deman Construction and other local subcontractors are donating services to make the remodel possible. The renovations will include, a new ceiling, window replacements an open space to house all donated clothes and toys.

"We're just excited to help these guys out because they do so much for the community and they're just continuing a hamstring a little bit by there environment here and hoping to just help that out," Denman said.

As the store prepares for its makeover Pierce said she is grateful for continuing support from the community. The Soroptimist Club is looking for volunteers to help with renovations. If you're interested in helping with this extreme makeover Click here.
