Watson Children's Shelter "Fair Fund Car Wash"

Posted: Updated:

Kids of the Missoula Watson Children's Shelter are raising money to go to the Western Montana Fair in Missoula this August with a car wash.

Right now, about 20 kids are living in the shelter which provides a safe and nurturing environment for children who have experienced abuse, neglect or abandonment.

The kids put on a car wash two weeks ago and raised just over two-hundred dollars through donations and the kids hope to bring in just as many cars to wash today.

The Summer Program Coordinator said the kids understand that they have to earn the money to go to the fair next month.

"The kids are getting pretty excited. They see that if they work towards going to the fair we have to raise money for it, they understand that and are all for it," Kristina Wherley said.

The kids will have their final car wash fundraiser before the fair in two weeks.
