Belgrade Bandits Buying In

Posted: Updated:
It's easy to be successful. It's hard to be consistently successful. That's what the Belgrade Bandits have done this season, as they are first in their class A division. They've gotten this good by playing better competition.

"Our double A non-conference schedule I think, cause when you play double A it's fast-paced it's super quick. If you make an error, they other team makes you pay so you learn to play at a high speed," said Belgrade senior Conner Switzer.

Players and coaches will agree: it's all about the B word.

"Buy-in. They trust us as a coaching staff. We set a compass. We give them a direction and we show them how to use the compass and they do the dirty work," said head coach Johnny Graham.

"There's been a lot more buy in. I think a lot of older guys and some of the younger guys were just getting back in the groove of things and really understanding the dynamics of how things are run," said senior first baseman Jamis Olson.

For Belgrade to keep dominating, it's all about focus.

"Between the ears I think last year the one weak spot we had was mentally. We work a lot on the mental game on mental training mental toughness," said Graham.

"Between the ears it's nothing physical our team is physically there but it's just a mental game baseball is all mental. It's whether you can put it off between the ears and you're good to go," said Switzer.
