Fire Danger Changed to High

Posted: Updated:

Officials gather every Monday and decide what the fire danger level is at based on the whole weeks weather and not day to day.

The Prevention Coordinator said this time of the summer is normal for high fire danger and she wants people to be careful.

"We always encourage people when you have a campfire you make sure its dead out, drown it with water, stir that in and feel the coals before you leave. That hasn't changed but just watching as the fuels dry out and it gets hotter and drier it increases the fire danger." Cindy Super said.

Super also encourages those who burned in the spring to go back and check to make sure the burn piles are fully extinguished.
