Governor Bullock Holds Discussion on Main Street Montana Project

KALISPELL - Governor Steve Bullock held a roundtable discussion in Kalispell to get the public's feedback on his Main Street Montana Project.

The purpose of the Main Street Montana Project is to develop a self-sustaining blueprint to support the creation, recruitment and retention of Montana jobs.  Flathead county's  housing market was hit hard during the recession. At Monday's roundtable discussion Economic Developers said jobs are coming back as the demands for lumber is on the rise. Participants offered more about challenges facing Montana businesses, workers and the strengths.

"This is the 6th one of these sessions. We gather information from job creators, educators, others in the community about what are the opportunities and the obstacles for our state,"  Bullock said.

Feedback from the discussion will be used to put together a business plan for Montana that focuses on the state's strengths while addressing economic and workforce challenges.
