Missoula Elementary Installs New Heating Boiler

MISSOULA -

Thanks to a $200,000 grant, Lewis and Clark Elementary will install a new heating boiler, to replace the school's 56-year-old heating system.

Missoula County Public Schools received the "Quality Schools" grant from the Montana Department of Commerce.

A few boilers in the district -- including those at Hellgate High School and the administration -- are more than 100 years old and still functioning.

Replacing Lewis and Clark's boiler is just one of several projects on the school maintenance schedule this summer.

Additional projects include installing new carpet, resealing gym floors, painting classrooms, and repairing roofs and playing fields.
