Fire in Yellowstone National Park Is Out

A fire in Yellowstone National Park is now out.

Yellowstone officials said lightening from Thursday night's thunderstorms sparked a fire in the northwest corner of the park.

The fire was less than an acre.

Park officials said their main concern wasn't inside the park.

"We suppressed it just because it was heading toward the Gallatin National Forest and we don't need a fire this early in the season," said Dan Hottle, Yellowstone National Park spokesperson.

Right now the fire danger inside Yellowstone is high, but Hottle said he thinks that will drop to moderate after the storm that started the fire.
