Veterinarian Offers Advice To Keep Your Pets Cool

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

As temperatures rise across Montana and the rest of the country, pet owners are being asked to be mindful of your pets in the heat.

Veterinarians remind people to never leave your animal in a parked car, even with the windows down. Your car can still be ten degrees warmers than the temperature outside with the windows down.

Veterinarians with the Animal Medical Center in Bozeman said there are products you can buy to keep your pets cool, but there is something better you can do.

"The most important thing is to do is going into the shade and drinking plenty of fluids," said Laura Rosenhal, veterinarian.

Rosenhal reminds people if you are playing with your pet outside and if you are hot and tired, your pet is too.
