Draft Schweitzer Campaign Will Meet in Butte

Posted: Updated:
BUTTE -

The Draft Brian Schweitzer for Senate Campaign will host a house party in Butte Wednesday evening.

The meet-up is a chance for Montana to build support for a Schweitzer candidacy in the U.S. senate.

Butte will be the fourth city in the state to host an event.

Billings, Missoula, and Bozeman have already held their meetings.

At the meeting, supporters will explain why they are drafting Schweitzer and how they are organizing a plan to build support in the Mining City.

"One of the ways it's going to differ is we have really strong legislative support," said Sean Whiting with the Draft Schweitzer Campaign. "We have a lot of co-hosts from Butte's local legislatures there, and a lot of support from that. Butte is a uniquely democratic town. There is a lot of support for Brian honestly."

The campaign hopes to identify 5,000 supporters in the state, 500 volunteers, and hopes to raise $50,000.

The meeting will take place at 2319 Harvard Avenue in Butte Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m.
