Red Jammers Back in Business for Summer Season

Posted: Updated:

WEST GLACIER - Bus drivers of the historic Red Jammers say operations are running smoothly after talks about removing the buses arose this winter.

In February The National Park service amended its concessions contract to maintain the Red Jammers. Officials required the concession would be responsible for all 33 historic red buses in the fleet Instead of 15 as previously recommended.

These up keeps included monitoring the condition of the red buses and rehabilitate the buses if needed. Driver Bill Chroeder said the Jammers are running smoothly for their new season.

"As soon as the road opens we start giving tours and the business is always good we're limited to the number of busses and we generally have full busses," Chroeder said.

The red buses operates seven days week, taking tourists around the park and along the Going-to the-Sun Road.
