Meteorologist Micah Rumsey is excited to make Big Sky Country his home and take on all the challenges that come with forecasting and reporting for Central Montana. After living in five other states and getting two college degrees, Micah brings a wide variety of experiences to Great Falls and the surrounding areas.
Micah received his Bachelors Degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Illinois and his Masters Degree in Geoscience with a focus on Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. During his time at Illinois, Micah interned at WCIA/WCFN in Champaign, Illinois, where he worked in the weather center to cover all types of weather, from snow to tornadoes, including some storm chasing. While at Mississippi State, Micah gave regular online weather broadcasts for Campus Connect Forecast.
Also during his years at school, Micah was involved in many community service activities. Micah has worked with tornado clean-up in Mississippi, homeless shelters in New Orleans, Iranian refugees in Vancouver, Canada and worked at home to raise money for clean water projects in Africa.
With all of his moving around, Micah enjoys cheering for sports teams from all over, including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Dallas Cowboys, Phoenix Suns, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Illinois Fighting Illini and Chelsea Soccer Club. In his free time, Micah loves to cook, play a variety of sports, listen to underground hip hop, play bass guitar, go to the zoo or anything related to trivia.
