KPD Showcase New Simulator

Posted: Updated:

KALISPELL - Flathead County Law Enforcement take their training to new heights after receiving their VirTra use of force simulator.

Law enforcement officials demonstrated their new training system to the public. The virtual reality training program puts officers through real life scenarios such as domestic disputes, traffic stops, or threats at a school.

The Kalispell Police Department received a seven-hundred and a $50,000 grant from the City of Kalispell to purchase the system.

"By adding all of the scenarios that we have, the threat fire system, that type of stuff, that only increases their awareness, their level of what's going on and it will protect them as well," Carey Mittin said.

In addition to the Simulator law enforcement will also get a 50-yard tactical shooting range. The Simulator will be open for both law enforcement and the community.
