Commissioners Consider Building Downtown Hotel

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN - At their weekly meeting Monday evening, Bozeman City Commissioners will consider an application to build an eight-story hotel downtown.

The hotel would go in place of the old armory on Mendenhall. The proposed hotel would be 110-feet tall, making it the tallest building in downtown.

The hotel would have 80 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar and an event room. It would be called "The Etha." City Manager Chris Kukulski said he is excited to see another development come to the downtown area.

"We've been blessed to have a healthy and a strong downtown, but I think it always has to kind of evolve and grow with the economy," said Kukulski. "By having people stay overnight downtown adds to the vibrancy to our downtown."

If approved, construction on the hotel could begin as early as next month. The City Commissioners meeting takes on Monday at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
