BUTTE -

Officials from the Butte-Silver Bow County Law Enforcement Department said the body of a male adult was found by hikers on Butte's East Ridge Thursday evening.

Law enforcement recovered the body Friday with the help of the Montana Search and Rescue team.

Sheriff Ed Lester says the body was in a rugged area that was tough to get to.

Lester says it doesn't appear suspicious activity was involved.

The body will be sent to the state crime lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
