Legacy MT Founder Retires

Posted: Updated:

The work done by the founder of Legacy Montana, a group made up of nonprofit's around the community, is being celebrated.

A retirement party was held for Jean Bowman at the Missoula Art Museum Monday.

Bowman founded Legacy Montana 13 years ago, and the group continues to grow.

Bowman's colleagues say she has a love for firefighters, so she was surprised when a fire fighter showed up to escort her into her party.

She said she enjoyed the fun, but she's just happy to see the amount of people supporting Legacy Montana.

"I'm delighted that they care enough about it that they want to keep it going," Bowman said. "I think this party indicates they don't want it to go away. They've all cooperated on planning the party, and they've all cooperated to make Legacy Montana work.

Legacy Montana is a group of 50 nonprofit's that promote charitable giving through a will or from an estate.
