Norovirus Hits Flathead County

KALISPELL -  Flathead City County Health Department reports an increase in the number of norovirus cases.

Health Officials said norovirus is a group of viruses that causes the majority of gastro-intestinal outbreaks in the United States. Symptoms include nausea vomiting and diarrhea.

The virus can be spread in food or water by direct contact between people or by contaminated surfaces. To prevent the spread of this virus health officials recommend the public clean hard-surfaces while washing hands thoroughly.
