MISSOULA- Missoula's Clark Fork Coalition held a Chug for Charity fundraiser Tuesday evening to help spread awareness about the importance of clean water.
People of all ages turned out to Draught Works Brewery to support the Missoula-based non-profit. The Coalition said they are dedicated to protecting and restoring the Clark Fork river basin.
Outreach Coordinator Jill Alban, said the organization allows river enthusiasts to meet and share ideas on how to keep the Clark Fork clean.
Alban said, "It takes more than a staff of a small non profit to get the job of protecting the river done so we rely on the community to help us with that. Water is life and we always need to be vigilant about protecting it."
A portion of each beer purchased during the fundraiser will be given to the Coalition to fuel future projects.
The Coalition also holds events from river clean ups to pulling weeds. Recently the group gathered over 900 volunteers to help with their tenth annual river clean up.
