Man Jailed for Shooting Wife in Face

Police said a Missoula man is in custody after allegedly shooting his wife in the face with a rifle.

Detective Travis Welsh said the woman woke up with a gunshot wound on her face Tuesday morning, and drove herself to Saint Patrick Hospital around 1:30 a.m.

Welsh said she sustained serious injuries, but they were non-life threatening, and she's recovering in the hospital.

He said police responded to the woman's home on the 1700 block of 8th Street, and arrested her husband, Mark Tabish.

Investigators said officers found evidence of drug and alcohol use at the residence.

Tabish will be seen in justice court Wednesday afternoon, and is expected to face attempted deliberate homicide charges.
