KALISPELL - The Whitefish School District is asking voters to pass a $36,000 levy to maintain school operating systems.
Passage of this levy will increase taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by $.93
"This levy is a relatively small one $35,000 however, what we know about current budgets in school districts especially ours is that every little bit counts and we really need that levy to just maintain current operating systems," Superintendent Kate Orozco said.
Voters will also vote for two vacant board of trustee positions. Incumbent Ruth Harrison and newcomers Nick Polumbus and Karla West are all running for the two trustee positions.
Harrison is seeking re-election after being appointed for the position in 2006.
The polls will be open Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. You can cast your ballot at the Whitefish School District on 600 East Second Street.
