Butte School District number one is asking residents to vote on a proposed levy that would generate money for the general fund.
If the vote passes, the school district's general fund would grow by $300,000 through tax increases.
Passage of the proposal would result in tax increases of $7.39 for a home valued at $100,000.
The proposed $300,000 increase to the district's general fund would go toward operations and maintenance.
More than 5,200 absentee ballots have been sent out.
So far, more than 3,700 of those ballots were returned.
Voting will take place Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. at the Butte Civic Center, Ramsay School, the Divide Grange Hall in Rocker and the Melrose fire hall.
