Congressman Steve Daines is touring the state, promoting gun rights, and looking at meeting with sporting organizations.
He made a stop in Missoula Friday at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's Visitor Center.
He also held a roundtable discussion with the Hellgate Hunters and Anglers, a Missoula-based hunting, fishing and conservation group.
Daines said land conservation, and the hunting industry are crucial for Montana's economy.
"Some of my best memories are hunting and fishing with my dad and grandpa, and I'm trying to do the same thing with my kids, but it also has an economic benefit," said Congressman Daines. "Tourism is a significant industry, but also outdoor products, and there's a lot of great product manufacturers right here in Montana."
Daines' last stop is Saturday in Helena for Military Appreciation Day.
He will meet with military leaders to thank Montana's service members, veterans and their families.
