YELLOWSTONE - On Friday, the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park will open for the season, as scheduled.
At 8 a.m. visitors will be able to travel through the Park's east, west and north entrances. The entrances lead to the popular Park destinations of Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and Norris Geyser Basin.
Although the Park did delay the start of plowing due to sequestration this year, the east entrance is opening on time. Parks Spokesperson, Dan Hottle said visitors should come prepared for cold temperatures and unpredictable weather.
"We still have a lot of snow in the interior. Visitors should still bring a coat, jacket, hat and gloves because it's still cold in the Park," said Hottle. "The best part of the season opening is you can usually see wildlife in the Park."
The south entrance of the Park will open Fri. May 10.
