Missoula Police are sending three extra patrol cars out this weekend, to combat drunk driving after the popular Garden City Brewfest and Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
Police said the one of the extra officers will be on the look out for impaired drivers after the brewfest Saturday, and two will be on the streets on Sunday for the holiday.
"It's very important to have the extra patrols out because that allows those officers to simply look for impaired driving, or you know, other dangerous traffic safety issues, other than just responding to calls," said Greg Amundsen, MPD Traffic Sergeant.
MPD officials encourage Missoulians to designate a driver, call a taxi, or take the bus if they're planning on going out this weekend.
They said the extra patrols are funded by the Missoula County DUI Taskforce and another state grant.
