No Felony Charges for Driver in Fatal Crash

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - Missoula County Attorney Fred Van Valkenburg Announced today he will not file felony charges against a driver who struck and killed 18-year-old Chance Geery on April 1, 2013.

Van Valkenburg identified the driver as 38-year-old Yoon Hee Cho. She is a citizen of South Korea who has been working as an assistant professor at the University of Montana for the last six months.

Van Valkenburg said it would be impossible for the state to prove Cho demonstrated gross negligence at the time of the accident. He said Cho could and should be charged with careless driving resulting in death, a misdemeanor.

We will have more on this story tonight on the ABC MONTANA NEWS AT 5:30.
