KALISPELL - A Flathead County Deputy Attorney avoids spending last weekend in jail after being charged with partner or family member assault.
Friday evening, Flathead County Deputy Attorney Kenneth Parks, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor after allegedly assaulting his wife. According to court documents, Parks and his wife got into a heated argument and he began to throw personal items at her.
Parks was arrested and was quickly seen before Judge Sullivan to avoid staying over night in jail at the risk of his life being threatened.
Park's hearing is set for June. If convicted he could face up to 24-hours to one year in jail and pay a fine of $100-$1,000 max.
