MISSOULA- A new fitness class for Missoula seniors aims to ease the difficulties that come with arthritis.
Organizers say the classes will include walking along the river trail and simple stretches while educating seniors about general health and fitness.
UM's New Directions Wellness Center partnered with the Missoula Senior Center to put on the hour-long classes.
Coordinator Molly Blair said, "You know it's just really an enjoyable crowd working with the older population and folks who are dealing with arthritis. It's really fun to encourage them to get out and get active and it's just a really neat environment. I've enjoyed getting to know these folks."
The class meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for the next six weeks and is still accepting new participants. To sign up stop by the Missoula Senior Center or the New Directions Wellness Center in the UM skaggs building.
