MISSOULA - On Tuesday, Missoula Police said a case dealing with a driver, who struck and killed a Hellgate High School student, has been turned over to the Missoula County Attorney's office.
The crash happened earlier this month on Mullan Road. Police said a distracted driver hit and killed 18-year-old Chance Geery as he was walking with his girlfriend. Police have wrapped up their part of the investigation.
They said the woman who hit Geery was driving while distracted, but they are not yet releasing what she was doing at the time of the accident. Now, prosecutors will determine which charges will be filed.
Attorney's could have the charges filed as early as this week.
