Flathead County Residents Lose Power

Posted: Updated:

KALISPELL - The Flathead Electric Company is working quickly to restore power for more than 1,100 homes in the valley.

The power outages are due to heavy gusty winds blowing at 50 miles per hour along with several trees falling on power-lines.

Early this morning, The Flathead Electric Company received several calls from residents with power outages from Bigfork to Libby. At one point, roughly 2,500 homes had no electricity.

According to officials from Flathead Electric, the company has already restored power for 136 residents. A high wind report warning remains in effect for Flathead County until midnight.
