Jeep's Roll-Bar Saved The Lives Of Mother And Daughter During Semi Collision
SPOKANE, Wash.- Emergency crews say the roll-bar on a Jeep likely saved the lives of a mother and daughter early Thursday morning. The two were driving in the jeep heading south on Thor, going up the Thor-Freya hill.
A semi was driving eastbound, getting off the freeway, and the Jeep hit the front end of the semi. That collision sent the Jeep, and the mother and daughter inside it, rolling. There was no top on the Jeep, but the Jeep was equipped with a roll-bar. A roll-bar is designed to protect its occupants from being injured in an accident, particularly in the event of a roll-over.
In this case, the roll-bar did its job, and neither person suffered any serious injuries, just some bumps and bruises. The driver of the semi was not injured. Traffic was backed up for a short time, but the area is now clear.
It's not clear at this time what led to the collision in the first place. The crash is still under investigation.
